Biography

Dr. Price earned his medical degree from the Weill Cornell Medical College and completed a residency in pediatrics at The New York Hospital-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Winston Price, M.D., FAAP, FACPE is a board-certified pediatrician and served as President of the National Medical Association (NMA) from August 2004 to July 2005. As President he guided the NMA to focus greater attention on the use of information technology & EHR’s toward improving consumer health education, maximizing patient healthy outcomes in their healthcare interaction and eliminating health disparities.

Dr. Price serves as the President and Chair for the National African American Drug Policy Coalition and also serves as the Chair of the Southwest Georgia Area Health Education Center (SOWEGA-AHEC) which focuses its mission to recruit, train and retain a robust and highly qualified health workforce for 38 counties in SW GA.

He is the Chief Technology & Information Officer for the W. Montague COBB/NMA Health Institute which focuses as a think tank on research toward elimination of health disparities. The Cobb Institute is currrently deeply involved with the NIH All of Us Research Program and the HHS Stay Well Community Health Outreach initiatives.

He holds academic positions at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine as an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Director of Pathway Programs for the SW Georgia Campus; and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Georgia.

He serves on the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health Steering Committee and continues to serve a second 6 year term on the Decatur County (GA) Board of Health.

His past administrative experience includes serving as medical director for Aetna Health Plans, Clinical Dean for the American University of Antigua Medical School and Medical Director for Georgia’s Medicaid Managed Care Program.

In his spare time Dr. Price also practices clinical medicine serving a SW population in Georgia with a focus on preventive care and is a Past Chief of Staff of the Memorial Hospital and Manor in Bainbridge, GA.
